Lights, camera, ACTION!

When did you last update your profile photos or headshots?

Tell me! If it was more than a year, then it’s time for you to update!!

55% of a first impression is based on the visual elements of your brand.

So if you have a headshot that is completely out of date and then you turn up on a zoom or at an event, or even a meeting, and it doesn’t look like you – it instantly diminishes the trust and rapport that you’ve built.

On the flipside, having a realistic representation of you as you are, and a photo that really reflects your personal brand, can rapidly increase relationship building. People can get to know you before they actually “meet you” because your personality and essence is shining through from the photo. Yes, it can be that powerful.

This week I had the most empowering, encouraging and inspiring day with a fabulous group of women at our Personal Brand Photo shoot.

We had the fabulous Meg from Kruz Creations come for an afternoon of fabulous connection. We all brought food, we had a relaxed yet versatile atmosphere in one of my client’s apartments, and we had plenty of time to chat. The conversations flowed easily and everyone relaxed into it so quickly, they even forgot that it was actually a “shoot”. Because we had fun!

I’m a big fan of doing these shoots in a group because I know it can be really daunting for so many women to get in front of the camera. Having others there can:

  • Build your confidence
  • Help you relax
  • Make you feel less alone, because you’re not
  • Get photos of you in action, asking other people to join in your photos for service based businesses this is a huge win
  • And it’s a fun experience.

Here’s what a few of our lovely group had to say:

“Thank you for organising such a wonderful day today, by far the best shoot experience of my life!!” – Amanda

“I was there, and definitely feeling awkward, but with gentle guidance from Emma and so much positive energy from Meg, Kruz Creations, it became much easier. I’m certain that I’ll get the shots I need for my business, and probably a few I didn’t even realise I needed! Highly recommend this team and doing a shoot as a group. It was fun!” – Tanya
