Do you live to work? Emma Lovell in a first nations bathing suit next to a pool in a sunny spot

Do you live to work?

Hello Lovely,

I don’t.

I work to live. I don’t live to work.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my work. I love what I do. I love the people that I work with. I love what I’m creating, and I’m proud of the business and the career that I’ve had so far. I’m also so excited for what’s to come.

But part of that is the life that I’m creating, with my business, the work and the life that I’m attracting by showing up as I am, and connecting with people who want more of what I’m putting out.

I don’t believe that I was put on this planet just to work. There’s more for me than that. And I feel that there’s more for you as well. Part of knowing who you are, part of owning your brand and owning your story is knowing what lights you up, and what really excites you.

For me, that’s travel. I love to travel! It inspires me, it motivates me, it drives me and I thoroughly enjoy it. It’s more to me than just hopping on a plane and jet setting and going and see fancy places. It’s about connection. The people I love, the people I love spending time with, are around the world.

I love learning new things, interacting with cultures and having that beginner mind, getting to see things and experience things in a completely new way.

I also seem to get the best ideas in the most random and amazing plans while I’m away. So I’m really excited to share what came from my last trip (watch this space!)

In all honesty, in May 2022, I did not think that the trip I just went on would happen.

We planned three and a half weeks in the USA, UK, Malta and Italy. The plan was to go to see my elderly relatives in the US and the UK, including my grandmother, but also to visit Italy for my cousin’s wedding.

I really felt like it wasn’t going to happen with where I was at personally. I was feeling overwhelmed, feeling busy (the word I hate using) and also where my finances were at.

But when I took this trip off the table, my motivation ceased, my desire was crumbled and I felt flat. I got to a point where I realised that this trip was non-negotiable and I had to make it happen. That decision transpired to be the best month in my business ever.

June was the best month I’ve ever had in business. By far! I asked and the universe delivered, I worked for it. But I worked for it so that I could live and I could enjoy this experience.

I want to know what drives you.

I want to know what motivates you.

I want to know what inspires you.

Not your business. You!

I want to know who you are and I want to connect on that level with you. Your personal brand is you! That’s it.

So are you doing things that light you up and help you to show up as the unique and wonderful person that you are?

Cheers,
Emma “Lovelly” Lovell
