Bill Sykes, MP, to Visit Fire Threatened Dinner Plain

 

Dinner Plain, Victoria: As a result of the recent bushfires of North East Victoria affecting Dinner Plain and Mount Hotham, Bill Sykes, MP, state member for Benalla will visit, meet and converse with community, residents and business operators at a meeting to be held in Dinner Plain on Friday 15 February at 11.30am at Alphutte (Horse Shoe Circle), Dinner Plain – next to Pinnacle.  All members of the community, business owners and operators of Mount Hotham and Dinner Plain are encouraged and welcome to attend.

Since the commencement of the fires, Bill has been actively in discussions with the state Minister for Tourism and Major Events, Louise Asher regarding regional economic recovery and plans for driving visitors back into the region once the area is once again safe to visit.

On Friday, Bill will be in a position to discuss and address issues relevant to the recent bushfire situation, particularly with regard to state government assistance and funding available to boost the local economy and encourage people to visit the area.
