AFIF CEO CELEBRATES 15 YEARS

Sydney, Australia, July 16, 2009 – Brian Lovell, CEO of the Australian Federation of International Forwarders, was today acknowledged by the AFIF Board of Directors for 15 years of Service.

The AFIF Board congratulated Brian for his tireless efforts in coordinating the daily running of AFIF as well as acting as Secretary General to the Federation of Asia Pacific Air Cargo Association (FAPAA.)

Originally from the UK, Lovell spent his early years in the industry with the Thomas Meadows group at London’s Heathrow Airport learning the Customs Clearance and Forwarding business.  In 1981, he was offered the opportunity to go to Sydney, Australia and join group company AFA Meadows as a management trainee and he’s never looked back.

In 1994, Brian was offered the opportunity to take on the challenge of the Federation’s first full-time CEO.  In 1996 AFAFF joined forces with the Seacargo Forwarders representative body IFAA to form AFIF and Brian was appointed CEO of the merged entity.

Lovell thanked his colleagues saying “This is my job, it’s what I do, and to be recognised and rewarded in this way is such an honour. I truly am touched“

Lovell has no intention of ending his 15 year stellar run with AFIF and has great ambitions to further develop the association for the benefit of the members. Lovell has more than 28 years experience in the industry and his success at AFIF is a tribute to that fact.
